BEHIND THE MUSIC

The Voice of Cinnamon Rayne

EP cover Contact (2).png

Cinnamon Rayne, multi-hyphenate music artist, showcases a unique soundscape and signature by creating something that has yet to define a genre. As a child, she was drawn to music and poetry, which were strongly influenced by her community, culture and the sounds of her surroundings. Her passion for music grew at an early age because she recognized the power it has and its ability to ignite people’s behavior.

Cinnamon began singing in the church at United Missionary Baptist. In the church, she participated in various music events and programs. However, her love for music grew at school. Cinnamon participated in numerous choirs, ensembles and sound design groups from grade school to college. Likewise, she studied music at private institutions such as The Hochstein School and Hampton University. Cinnamon explores different aspects of music which she showcases in her music. Her signature style is interchangeable and dependent on her creative preference. She enjoys fusing different genres because it allows creative freedom; she believes music should not be restricted and bound to a genre.

Cinnamon’s songwriting style swallows you and makes you understand her essence in an intimate light. She conveys a poignant message about the complexity of mental health, the visibility of inner demons, and the importance of facing one's scars rather than running away from them. Cinnamon’s songwriting style does not shy away from uncomfortable, sensitive or dark, topics but embraces them to highlight her unique soundscape because it’s her healing journey.
